Batting Basics and Pricing

Batting and Backing needs to be a minimum of 8″ wider and 8″ longer than your top.   If, for example, your top is 50 x 50, you need batting and backing that is 58 x 58.  The extra allows us to have the needed room to attach your quilt to the frame, and you get all the extra back. My preferred batting is Hobb’s Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly blend batting.  You can supply the batting for your top or get it from me at a reasonable charge. Please Note:  if you do send me batting, there are certain batting types I can not accept as they will not work well on a longarm frame, this includes any poor quality batting, batting with holes, tears or strains, or some old quilts that are in poor qualityBatting can be purchased on the online check-out form — this is the preferred/recommended method as it ensures that I both have enough batting and that it is of the correct quality.

Choices of Batting:

  • Hobbs 80/20 Natural
  • Hobbs Wool Natural
  • Hobbs 80/20 Black
  • Hobbs Wool Black

If you would like to use a 100% cotton batting, please contact us for a customized quote.

Optional 2nd Batting Layer; make sure you choose this option in the order form to make your quilt pop.

IF YOU SEND BATTING THAT CAN NOT BE USED – YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY.

You will need to either provide additional suitable batting or purchase the batting from me for an additional charge
