Pre-QUILTING PREPARATIONS

Square-up Quilt Prior to Quilting   $45
We have quilted some ”less than perfect” tops and were very pleased at how much the stitching enhanced the final product. Is is especially fun to help finish a beginning quilter’s very first quilt that has too much fullness in the borders and the corners were not square.  So, all is not hopeless even when piecing is not perfect.  Let us help you turn a frown up side down and quilt in some love to your project.

Backing Preparation:

  • Piece together one of more pieces of fabric:  $5.00/seam to piece the backing
  • Square up the back fabric:  $5.00 per side to square up the backing

Quilt Preparation:

  • Ironing Prior to Quilting   $30 :  excessive ironing beyond the routine quick ironing given to all quilts before quilting.
  • Grooming Prior to Quilting  $25 :  trimming excessive threads is only done if dark threads will show through white fabrics.
  • Minor Quilt Repairs  $25 (and up depending) :  minor repairs to quilt top, such as resewing seams that have pulled apart or were never sewn in the first place

QUILTING SERVICE ADD-ONS

Basting for Hand Quilting $0.005 per sq. in. ($55 minimum total quilt order)
Machine basting is available for customers who wish to hand-quilt. Basting intervals typically are set to every 3 inches, but this can be changed by request.

Quilt in the Borders  $25.00 per border section
Added to complement your Edge-to-edge quilting design, this technique incorporates stitching on one or more separate borders. This is for the number of border sections, not the number of sides; it is assumed that the pattern will be quilted in all four sides of the border area. If there is more than 1 border section please use the additional notes area below to add any changes to the pattern, otherwise the same pattern will be used

LABLES & LOVE

Labeling your heart-based project is just like signing a painting–you made it, why not sign it! Especially for gifts and heirloom quilts you’re handing down, a label is an essential addition to any quilt. But quilt labels are a tricky thing to make! Embroidering or hand-writing a label with a fabric marker can take a lot of time, but there’s no need to order a ton of custom labels for just one project. Every handmade project deserves a label to let the recipient know just who made it, and to carry the artist’s name for generations to come. Send in your own label, or let us make one for you out of muslin, your own fabric, and put a little touch of love with a machine embroidered label.

  • You provide label, machine attached : $5
  • We provide muslin pre-printed label, hand lettering, machine attached :  $10
  • Machine embroidered on fabric (provided or muslin), then machine attached :  $25 ( 6″x 8″ piece with max of 6 lines)
  • Machine embroidered on quilt face directly : $35 and up

MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES

Hanging Sleeve: $0.20/linear inch
Made from fabric supplied by customer, a hanging sleeve is prepared; machine attached to top of quilt and hand stitched on bottom of sleeve.

Miscellaneous Services $12.00/hr
Including piecing quilt backing, stay-stitching, repairs and other minor changes you pre-approve..  These fees are added, upon your approval, after we have received and checked in your quilt.

Quilt Repairs (Extensive Repairs)  $0.15/sq.ft to $0.40/sq.ft depending on repair work and type
Quilts with wavy borders or areas that will not lie flat require extra work that WILL result in extra charges. Minimal fullness can be eased in without problems, but too much fullness will result in pleats or tucks if additional work is not done to fix problem areas before quilting. There is a minimum additional charge of $0.40/sq.ft.  for any quilt that has wavy borders or problem areas that must be fixed before they can be quilted.  For example:  a queen size quilt with 50 sq.ft. would cost $20 more (50 x $0.40/sq.ft.).
